Our Personal Connection to the DRC
At Ndáko, DRC is close to our hearts. Our founders' family ties and friendships in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) — especially in Bukavu — have shown us both the beauty and the hardships of life in Eastern Congo. We’ve seen how war, displacement, and violence have affected communities — especially women and girls.
The Ongoing Crisis in Eastern Congo
The DRC is facing one of the world’s most underreported humanitarian crises. Armed conflict and systematic sexual violence have left deep wounds, particularly in provinces like South Kivu. Through this campaign, we hope to raise awareness and funds to support lasting healing and justice.
About the Mukwege Foundation
The Dr. Denis Mukwege Foundation is an international rights-based, survivor-centred organisation working to change the global response to conflict-related sexual violence. We support survivors’ demands for a world where sexual violence as a weapon of war is no longer tolerated and bears consequences for individual perpetrators and states. We work for a future where survivors receive the holistic care and compensation they need to rebuild their lives. We create opportunities for survivors to speak out and be heard, and where they can organise to create change, influence policies, and demand justice and accountability.
In 2017, the Mukwege Foundation initiated SEMA – the Global Network for Victims and Survivors to End Wartime Sexual Violence –to mobilise survivors to speak out about the realities of sexual violence in conflict. In 2023, the Mukwege Foundation and the SEMA Global Survivor Network launched the Survivors’ Call to Action to draw a red line to end conflict-related sexual violence. Together, they work at the Red Line Initiative, a call to hold States and perpetrators to account.

From June 13 to December 31, 2025, Ndáko will donate 100% of our profits from every clothing item sold to the Mukwege Foundation. That means: we only keep what we need to cover production and shipping costs. Everything else goes toward supporting survivors of violence in Eastern Congo.
